Ella D. Auchincloss
Founder and Chair of the Leadership Team
Ella Auchincloss’s experience combines her early career as an investment professional with her commitment to developing the leadership capacity of the faith-based and nonprofit sector. From 2003-2008, Ella served as Treasurer of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. In response to this experience, Ella founded the DioMass Leadership Development Initiative: a teaching and coaching program dedicated to deepening congregational leadership capacity for mission and community outreach, based upon the work of Marshall Ganz. Ella completed a fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School studying Leadership and Organizing with Marshall Ganz and later worked with as a member of Ganz’s HKS Teaching Team. She has led numerous trainings and skill clinics for a wide variety of nonprofit leaders and organization. She is a founding member of the Leading Change Network, affiliated with the Harvard KennedySchool, a global network of professionals trained in the Ganz framework who are developing projects in a variety of non profit domains. Since joining Rethink Health in 2011, Ella has developed Center for Medicare and Medicaid’s QIO Program, Appalachian Regional Commission on Diabetes, Center for Appalachian Philanthropy Faith Based Health Ministries, The Healthy Columbia (SC) Campaign, Harvard Vanguard, Massachusetts General Hospital Global Primary Care Program and the Greater Boston’s Aligning Forces for Quality Initiative funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Prior her work in leadership studies, Ella spent eleven years with the Bankers Trust Company in New York as both a trader and sales professional in the fixed income capital markets and she worked for New Generation Advisers in Boston, raising investment funds. Ella holds a Masters in Theological Studies from the Harvard Divinity School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Babson College.
