Introduction to Wisdom Christianity - Lenten Study Series

The Wisdom stream, a common ground of all major religions, combines the ancient science of spiritual conversion with a cosmology that grounds us in our deepest inner knowing. In Western Christianity this Wisdom stream, long preserved in the life and practice of monastic communities, now offers new hope for manifesting Jesus’ way of transformation in our personal lives and in the life of the world. This course, led by the Rev. Steven Bonsey, will combine the experience of contemplative spiritual practice with an inquiry into Cynthia Bourgeault’s The Wisdom Jesus.

Join us for six evenings (mostly Mondays) in Lent at Christ Church, Cambridge, Zero Garden St. in Harvard Square:

  • February 23
  • March 2
  • March 10 (Tuesday)
  • March 16
  • March 23

The schedule for each week will include:

  • 6:00 – Simple supper
  • 6:30 – Contemplative worship
  • 7:00 – 8:30 – Presentation and conversation

The supper and worship are open to all. Participants in the course are asked  to bring a copy of The Wisdom Jesus by Cynthia Bourgeault (Shambala Press). The book is widely available from popular book sources. Co-sponsored with Christ Church, Cambridge.

For more information, contact Steven.
