Thanks to Julie Lytle's (Director of Province 1) help, all groups working on collaborative efforts across dioceses can apply for a Growing God's Mission grant to help cover LDI's $600 fee. Applications are welcome if the collaboration includes participation in LDI programs, but the grants will not be available to cover the cost of an LDI program by itself. As Julie mentioned at our Taste and See event, the LDI training around church and community development is exactly why this grant was created! If you have any questions contact Duncan Hilton.
On November 17, over 70 people spent a whole Saturday delving into the spiritual practices for developing leadership in their congregation. With great facilitators and spirit-filled worship, participants "tried on" the LDI curriculum, specifically telling the Story of Self and engaging in the 1:1 Relational Meeting. A special thanks to Grace Church, Medford for serving as gracious hosts. Want to learn more? Check out our presentation slides!
Don't forget to stay tuned for more information about LDI's first official training on January 25 and 26!
Don't forget to stop by the LDI table at the annual Diocese of Massachusetts Convention this Friday and Saturday. We'll have goodies for the mind, the heart, and the stomach (who says you can't eat candy after Halloween?). This will be a great chance to talk with our Leadership Team and pick-up our winter brochure highlighting important training dates. Plus, we'll be unveiling the new LDI logo!
Which is the dream vestry--one where the meetings are quick and easy or one where the meetings are full of prayer and purpose? If you've ever served on a vestry, or are thinking of serving on one, make sure you check out the Episcopal Church Foundation's post on Vital Practices for Church Vestries by Miguel Escobar.
LDI presented on Story of Self to a packed room at the DioMass Resource Day this past Saturday. We were blessed to have 46 people at the morning workshop. In the afternoon hundreds attended a plenary session about holding 1:1 relational meetings. Check out the presentation here. Copies of the handouts are also available.
Come join us on the evenings of Sep. 26 and Oct. 3 at 7pm. LDI is hosting free 60 minute webinars that would give you a taste of what LDI teaches and how. Topics will be identifying and recruiting new leaders and creating strong team structures. Register at the links below:

Here is an excerpt from Margaret Smist's recent sermon at St Andrew's in Ayer (you can read the full text here): LDI WILL change you, your team, your parish….and as we found out ….it changed our city. LDI helped the parish begin to define our mission and find new and creative ways to reach out and share God’s love!
Some of you may think your church is on the right track, you may think you are just in survival mode, you may have decided it is time for your parish to turn out and not in or you may want to share Gods love in a new way in your community. LDI can help you!
