Dear LDI friends,

I am sad to say that my time with LDI as a Program Associate and Emmaus Fellow has come to an end.  It has been such a pleasure being a part of this team and the wider community of LDI supporters, participants, and alums.  As some of you may know, I am not from Boston. I moved from Portland, Oregon, two years ago, unsure of what was to come of this cross country move, but trusting that God had placed me here for a reason.  Being introduced to LDI in 2012 as a participant with the BPEACE team and then joining LDI as staff in 2013 has been such a wonderful part of my journey in this city, and in life.   It has been transformational and empowering in the use of my voice and abilities, as well as in claiming leadership.  I feel extremely grateful to have been given so many wonderful opportunities to serve in various aspects of this organization.  These opportunities have challenged, stretched, and grown me, both spirituality and professionally.  Although I will miss interacting with LDI on this same level, I certainly aim to remain connected.  I’ve committed to staying in Boston for at least another two years so please keep in touch and I’m sure I’ll continue to see you around.

I thank you all for your witness as prayerful and prophetic leaders.  I thank you for your support in an organization that inspires and enables others in their God given abilities.  I thank you for your leadership and love of justice.  And I thank you for believing in yourself, trusting each other, and working in community to achieve shared purpose during times of uncertainty.  You are faith in action!

I wish you all the very best.

Sincerely,

Ruth Nkemontoh
