The April LDI clinic focused on how to hold a house meeting. Below is an excerpt from Rev. Kate Cress about how the training came in useful for her work: I am so happy you offered training at our last LDI coaching session on running a house meeting. It feels like divinely-inspired timing, because, as rector of Church of Our Saviour, in Somerset, my congregation and I and our friends at Christ Church, Swansea, have been trying to figure out a way to grow our Food Pantry to make possible more distributions. Our own team is maxed out. So we threw a potluck last Wednesday night, inviting Christ Church folks, our own existing volunteers, new potential volunteers from our church, and prospective volunteers from the local Congregational and Baptist churches, too. 5o people showed up, from a 9 month old to an elderly Baptist woman in a walker, and every age in between!! Dinner was great, full of fellowship, and the agenda came straight from your model agenda. After the pair and share, as we fed back into a group discussion, testimonials were flying, and the energy was fabulous!! I loved the feeling, all evening, that I had a definite plan and strong agenda. Many people came forward and volunteered not just to help (i.e. showing up at distributions to hand out food), but to be trained for leadership positions. I think we are going to be able to do this! Thank you so much!
